It seems to remember the last station that a tuner was set for and will then use the tuner that is already tuned to the channel wanting to record. It ignores the priority settings completely. You can go into the registry and add a name to each tuner. I think its UserDefName. If you review the record history list you can get a feel for which tuner was used for recording by looking for this name. It's never made much sense to me as to which tuner is used but you cant review it ahead of time before the recording is made. This is a thread on how to add more than 2 tuners but it goes into the various priority settings and buried in it is a reference to UserDefName. I find some of this information to be incorrect. However you cannot choose which tuner you are going to record with. I've never had a problem with my priorties on "watchpreferred" and "recordpreferred". As long as you have them set right they will always use the tuner that you specify on the keys. It's quite easy to set the keys and you can always say that you don't want the tv to change channels. I have 3 hybrid tuner cards which means 6 tuners and I like to watch the HDTV box connected via s-video the picture is much more crisp and if I get "mixed up" in tuners just press stop and you will be returned to the "watchpreferred"Don't know what to tell ya other than that.. search for the thread on multiple tuners reg hack and then just follow those steps as those keys you're looking for are there (see the link above.. in the registry keys one of them is play order & then record order)

Some can be serviced and some move. A lot of time. I'll take the buttons off of them and soke the entire tuner in WD-40 overnight which will change intensity the hard grease and clean and be the gears inside. Its messy and sometimes it doesnt work as well as other times. Some tuners housing are pressed together. Some are screwed together and some are crimped.
